With the spot price of gold still remaining around $1000 for 1oz, despite what some commentators predicted for the end of this week, it's worth keeping an eye on how this new 'baseline' flows through into what gold coins are actually selling for.

Our gold coin prices on eBay page shows what coins have actually sold for (not what was asked) and how many bids were made. If you check that page, you'll see that as usual American Eagles are the most popular coin, and there is a healthy number of sales being made daily, in the range of about $1040 to $1140 for the one-ounce version.

The fractional (one tenth of an ounce) coins are also selling strongly, as new collectors enter the market, and make their first purchases. Before you check the current prices for gold coins on sale here, bear in mind what today's market prices are.
